Madeley High School is a co-educational 11-16 community comprehensive school administered by Staffordshire County Council. It serves mainly the area lying to the west of Newcastle Under Lyme including the communities of Keele, Madeley, Betley, Baldwins Gate, Maer, Aston, Mucklestone, Ashley, Ashley Heath, Knighton, Whitmore, Wrinehill, Almington, Hanchurch, Onneley and Loggerheads. Considerable numbers also apply from outside this area.


The school was originally opened in 1957 and considerable extensions have since been completed providing first-class facilities for all departments. The school has grown in recent years, and housed 660 pupils in September 2009. The school's admission limit for 2010/2011 is 135.
