Gifted and Talented

At Madeley High School we define Gifted and Talented pupils as those who have abilities in one or more subjects within the statutory school curriculum other than design technology, art, music and PE.

Talented pupils are those who have abilities in art, design, music, PE or in sports or performing arts such as dance and drama.

Once we have identified these pupils we put them onto a register which specifies the subjects for which they have been nominated. In so doing, we are able to note which pupils are particularly able across a range of subjects and which have a particular talent in one area.

Madeley High School allows for differentiation and challenge, which is expected in every lesson. Each curriculum area and individual classroom teacher is responsible for the development of G&T provision within that area, and the sharing of good practice throughout the whole school.
