Gardening/Eco Group

 

In summer 2009 we were fortunate to receive money from the C & LP group to fund our school garden. This has enabled us to put in raised beds from which we will grow vegetables and flowers. This year we have also received further ASDAN funding for a shed and a greenhouse. This is very much needed so that we can safely store our new tools and equipment that we have received from collecting Morrisons Let's Grow Vouchers. It is an ongoing project and we plan to develop the garden area so that it can be used and enjoyed by the whole school.

 

The group currently meets on a Thursday lunchtime, but hope to meet twice a week during the busy time of the growing season. During the winter we planted daffodil bulbs around school and kept the garden tidy.

 

This spring will be our first growing season and we plan to grow our own flowers to brighten up areas around the school. Also, various vegetables including potatoes which we have entered a potato growing competition between local schools.
