Did you know that by 2015, all young people will continue in education or
training until their 18th birthday?
•This is being introduced in two stages.
1.Young people now in Year 8 will participate until they are 17
2.Young people now in Year 7 will participate until they are 18
•Young people will be able to choose:
-Full-time education at college, a sixth form or home education
-Work-based training such as an Apprenticeship
-Part-time education or training, if they are employed, self-employed or volunteering more than 20 hours a week
•The better the qualifications and skills that young people have the better their chances of making the most of their careers. Staying in learning for longer will give every young people the best chance to achieve and succeed.
