CONNEXIONS

Connexions is a FREE service that offers information, advice and guidance to young people to give them the best start possible in their adult and working lives.

All 13-19 year olds can use Connexions. Young people can use Connexions whether they are in school, in college, at work, in training or if they are unemployed.


WHAT DOES CONNEXIONS DO?

  • We give clear information and advice about careers, education, training, employment, health, benefits, housing, leisure, volunteering and other topics young people want to know about.

  • We encourage young people to continue in learning either through training at work or through full-time education.

  • We provide help with career decisions.

  • We provide up-to-date careers and labour market information


HOW DOES CONNEXIONS WORK?

All young people have access to a Personal Adviser who can give them help and information.

Personal Advisers:

  • Arrange any special support that a young person needs

  • Help young people to understand the information and advice provided

  • Offer continuing support

  • Have a network of contacts


MAKING CONTACT

Connexions Advisers are available in school most Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
You can arrange an individual appointment, or come with a friend by asking your Head of Year or Mrs Kretschmer or simply "drop in" to the Careers room next to room 14 at lunchtimes on the days listed above.

At other times you can contact your Connexions Advisers at the Newcastle Connexions Centre (Tel: 01782 297383). It is also possible to email your advisers at : nicole.hancock@cxstaffs.co.uk or helen.sawyer-grund@cxstaffs.co.uk 

Connexions is also available through Connexions Direct (7 days per week, 8.00 a.m. - 2.00 a.m.).
